In summer, you can't do without air conditioning in Alicante, Benidorm, and Gandía. A system that's too weak won't handle the heat, while one that's too powerful will make you overpay on electricity bills. Important: In old houses in Alicante and Gandía — thick walls and high ceilings. In new buildings in Benidorm — panoramic windows. This changes the calculation.

Basic Calculation Formula

ClimaEco engineers use the formula: Q = S × h × q, where Q is power (kW), S is area (m²), h is ceiling height (m), q is solar heat coefficient.

Coefficient q:

  • 30–35 — north-facing rooms, good insulation
  • 35–40 — standard rooms
  • 40–45 — rooms with south/west-facing windows (important for resorts)

Example for a bedroom in Benidorm: 20 m², ceilings 2.7 m, south-facing windows. Take q=45. We get: 20 × 2.7 × 45 = 2.43 kW.

City-Specific Features

Alicante: For apartments on upper floors and attics, add +15-20% to the calculation due to heated roofing.

Benidorm: Apartments with sea views (west/south) require maximum power. Dehumidification mode is important due to high humidity.

Gandía: In old houses with stone walls, accurate consideration of thermal insulation is required. A calculation error will make the air conditioner work inefficiently.
